Beyoncé Wins Legal Battle To Trademark Daughter Blue Ivy’s Name After 12-Year Fight

Beyoncé has won the legal battle to trademark her daughter Blue Ivy’s name. The hit singer faced opposition from Veronica Morales, a wedding planner who owned Blue Ivy Events. The USPTO rejected Morales’ complaints and ruled the two names were not similar enough. The Carter family tried to trademark Blue Ivy’s name again in November 2023 but faced another obstacle with a Wisconsin boutique owning the Blue Ivy logo. The boutique never refuted the application, ultimately helping Beyoncé secure the trademark. The trademark was issued in the Trademark Official Gazette on December 31, 2024, and opponents could oppose it by January 30, 2025.
